Grief & Loss Therapy

In the past, grief models have been structured around severing ties and letting go. Modern grief models see a shift to focus on accepting and integrating the loss, rebuilding your life carrying your loss forward with you into the future. Through our time together we can better understand the types of grief, and the processes and strategies to move through grief and find a supported way through.

Perinatal Support

The perinatal period covers from planning conception, through to your babies first year of life. Pregnancy and birth are two very big milestone events in our life that happen in close succession. During this time we can experience many emotions and need extra support. Up to 1 in 5 women and up to 1 in 10 men, will experience anxiety and/or depression in the perinatal period, with only 25% of people seeking help mosty due to fear of failure or feeling they can manage themselves.

Stress and Anxiety

Life can quite simply be overwhelming. During counselling you can unload all of your concerns in a non judgemental space, and I can help you explore and understand what may be underlying  stress and anxiety, together finding effective solutions that work for you and your situation. If you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, the first step is often a visit to your GP for assessment.

Highly Sensitive People (HSP's)

High sensitivity (also known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity) is a natural personal trait that roughly 15-20% of people have, allowing a deeper and more intense experience of the world in all aspects. Counselling can help you honour your sensitivity while navigating overwhelm and building confidence to thrive in a busy world.

Ask for help

Because you want to remain strong.

Many people seek counselling to share their struggles, find understanding, clarity and to set a solid path forward.

You may have a current life change or challenge that has you feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you have been talking to family and friends about your thoughts and concerns, even though they are trying their best, you need additional support.

You may have tried to manage things on your own, but now need a new perspective and new set of skills to manage. You may also be at the end of your tether and are struggling to cope.

Acknowledging the need and seeking support is a sure sign of strength and resilience, especially if you are feeling unmotivated and possibly even a little hopeless.
